Humla Football Academy

@Humlafootball

Vishnu Patron of Humla Football Academy

Humla is one of the worst districts of Karnali province. Humla is a difficult district in itself, especially in the field of sports.

45-year-old Bishnu Rawat, who has been working for the development of the football field in the same district for a long time. Born in Humla on 5th August 2035, Rawat arrived in Kathmandu at a young age. He was only five years old when he came to Kathmandu. There was no school in the village at that time.

His grandfather Karna Bahadur Rokay, with the desire to send his grandson to make him a big man, brought 5 children along with Vishnu to the childrens temple in Naxal, Kathmandu.
Vishnus only goal was to return to the village after becoming educated.

His father also had a dream that his son should study a lot and become a businessman. That is why he came to Kathmandu from the village to study. Vishnu came to Kathmandu and started living in Naxal. Vishnu says, At that time, it was customary to bring children to study in Kathmandu. Thats why my father brought him to Naxal and enrolled him. I spent my childhood in Naxal.

Eating, living and reading facilities were free of charge. Thats why Vishnu was relieved. He was very interested in studies. Thats why he never fell behind in his studies.

One day Vishnu saw the players playing football. Vishnu was very happy to see the players playing on the field kicking the football and sending it flying towards the sky. And he also wanted to play football.

He had no football to play with and no money to buy football. But he wanted to play football anyway. So, to fulfill his wish, he made a school sock into a ball and started kicking it like a football. Vishnu says, "At that time, I wanted to play football, but I didnt have money to buy a ball, so to fulfill my desire, I cut plastic inside my socks and started playing by making a football."

Training provided by the school

Seeing their passion for football, the school gave them the opportunity to train football. Then they trained accordingly. Vishnu says, That training taken in 2040/45 should be considered great. He returned to his village

He was studying in Kathmandu and returned to his village at the age of 10. And stayed in the village to continue his studies. When he returned from Kathmandu to Humla, he was surrounded by mountains. Where did you come from? The place of birth is the same, but all his childhood was spent in Kathmandu. Mountains around. Where did you come to? I was surprised.

First of all, do not understand the language. He was born there. But he could not spend that much of his childhood there. Vishnu says, When he went to the village, even his relatives were not recognized. He reached his birthplace after about ten years.

Take football in the village

Ten years later, when he went to the village, he arrived from Kathmandu carrying footbals and footbal shoes. After that, the rest of his education started from Mansarovar Secondary School.

During the school hop time, Vishnu used to reach school with a football. Other school friends were shocked when he took the football. Because there was no football. They used to make cloth balls and play there. Football is also called football. Vishnu says, "The locals are responsible for the development of football in Humla." I am also proud of that.

During half time, Vishnu and two or three friends used to play football on the school ground. Since Vishnu learned football from Kathmandu, it was new for him there.

If they played today and tomorrow, the youth there would be more interested in football than football. There was no playground. After the school holidays, Vishnu used to collect his friends and go to the airport.
Vishnu says, There is no pole, no sports equipment, no socks, no jersey. However, football was new for them. When we were playing football, the plane would come. After sounding the siren from the tower, we used to run away with our clothes and dresses. Even in that situation, we played football on the stone ground.

At the airport, stones were stones. How many injuries? The security personnel were also abused. However, we did not stop playing football. After I took it, it became clear that there will be such a thing as football in Humla.

The youth there gradually started to get attracted towards the football game. Nepal police team, staff meeting center team, school-school, small-small clubs, competitions started to be held.
Vishnu says, First volleyball was made into football and used to be played intermittently. When I started playing football, I became very interested. After that, the school also started bringing footballs. Become a businessman to earn money

There were also many who asked Vishnu what he would get by participating in the game. In the beginning, there was also an impulse from the family. After that he started towards tourism business. Maybe he thought of becoming a football player but he became a businessman to earn money.

"My dream was to become a player, but I also had to earn money, so I became a businessman," he says. Being involved in the tourism sector, he has played an important role in attracting tourists to Humla, Jumla and Mansarovar. He is also associated with Manang Air.

He became a successful businessman but his passion for football never went away. Thats why, after four decades, he is drawing the future of football in Humla by engaging in pure social service.
His dream is for Humla players to contribute to the nation through sports. Therefore, he has built a football ground at Simikot-5 in Humla. He says that his friends also contributed to the ground, which was built to encourage young people who dream of becoming sportsmen.

"My friends Preeti Bahadur Rawat, Budhi Rokai and Ravin Basnet also contributed to the football field built for my siblings," he says, "My friends are the ones who support me."

Establishment of Humla Football Academy

He never gave up despite suffering when he started the Humla Football Academy in 2077. So he helped him a lot.

Many people have helped me and continue to do so. Thats why I never lost courage," he said. "As long as I live, the academy will exist."

More than 250 trainees are now taking training in the football academy, which was opened two years ago. In which Dipa Shahi is playing from the Nepali womens football team.
He reaches the football field at an altitude of 2910 meters in the morning and is happy to see his siblings playing football. And they start thinking, These are the players of the future.

Vishnu says, "Earlier there was a lot of suffering. First, there will be no players. Not all things will be found immediately. Footballs With the help of friends, we brought 60/70 footballs last year.

He has helped us even from Kathmandu. Ramesh Maharjanjiu took 27 football jerseys from Kathmandu at his own expense and stayed in Simikot for two days. We forgot all the sorrows and managed to do something for Humla. If we can make it to the national level through the A division, tomorrow the name of our birth place will remain, it will be known as Nepal. That is the way we are going. He has also succeeded in making the nation known through football. I think we will be successful one day.

Future plans

Vishnu says, His vision is one-sided. After embracing football, it was not possible to bring it in the middle and leave it. It has been reported that after the training, he is also playing football in Humla. We have been benefiting from training by attending at 6:30 on social media. Now I am going to take Humlas football to the last stage of life.

Government support and assistance

Bishnu says that the government has not given much priority to sports. Vishnu says, Anfa, the supreme football organization of Nepal, should help but it has not done so. This is also the responsibility of ANFA. All Nepal Football Association, Karnali Sports Council, National Sports Council also have the duty and responsibility. But there has been no help.

He urges the members of the nation to pay close attention to sports and support them.

He says, Two years ago, ANFA gave 10 footballs. The support of Karnali Sports Development Council is zero. The District Sports Development Committee once came to the ground and donated 180 jerseys. It has been carried out by other helping hands.

Vishnu adds, Education, health and sports are complementary for us. When you hold the flag of Nepal and go to get the goal medal, how does the nation feel at that moment? It is not just a game. If you send a little message that we are also there, we will get a lot of energy from suitable playing field, sports equipment and personal attitude towards sports. It’s my football journey
